U23s fail to qualify for the Olympics

Here's the brutal post-game interview by Porter.

I watched a bit of the game on Concacaf.com but didn't have much interest in it. Would I watch the games this summer at the Olympics? Probably. Is this devastating for US Soccer? No.

This summer will be all about the Euros.

My team, the Portland Timbers start tonight against Philly. The game is on ESPN 2.

Kevin, our National Events Manager, went to Colorado to see the Rapids opener.

His presence was good luck as the Rapids won 2-0 over Columbus.

Messi impresses again with five goals

I'm sure many of you have heard but Lionel Messi put on an incredible showing yesterday in Barcelona's 7-1 win over  Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He becomes the first player in Champions League history to score five in one game.

US Soccer AGM

US Soccer held its annual general meeting in Miami this past weekend and USASA was proud to be a part of it. It was great to see a lot of our members and get a lot accomplished at the same time.

Thursday afternoon Florida State Soccer put on a pickup game. To say it was hot and humid would be an understatement, but the heat didn't affect the competition.

Following the game was our President's Roundtable. Our members got to meet Duncan Riddle, USASA's new executive director, and sit in on a National Board of Director meeting.

Friday was the National Council Meeting and then US Soccer held an event at a local theme park, Jungle Island.

This is where we met these guys. It looks like it was past their bedtime.

And finally Saturday was the anniversary dinner. US Soccer honored the 2012 Werner Fricker Award Recipient, Hank Steinbrecher.

Welcome

Welcome to the new blog! Over the past few months the staff at the Chicago office has been hard at work on US Adult Soccer's make over.

We've introduced a new logo, website and will soon have an online registration system. The website is now more content based rather than just an administrative site, and we're excited to start showcasing some of our state associations and leagues.

Take some time and explore the site a bit. Let us know what you think!
